How to activate your tags
Stick the label on the thing first, so you know which one you're registering. Then scan the QR code, or type the code from the label into the site.
The code on the label
The tag code is printed in small type beside the QR code on each individual label. It's 7 characters and names that one label. Anyone who finds the item can read it — that's the point.
The first label
Scan the QR code with your phone's camera, or go to the site and type in the code from the label.
You sign in with the email address you ordered with — we email you a 6-digit code — there's no password to remember. Then you give the thing a name, and write the message a finder will see.
The rest of the pack
You activate the remaining labels simply by scanning them — name, message, done.
Switch phone or browser and you simply sign in with the same email address.
What a finder sees
The name you give the thing, and the message you write. Nothing else — not your name, not your email address, not your phone number.
Write "Bunny" or "blue backpack", never the child's name. That's the whole reason we print a code instead of a name: the code tells whoever reads it nothing except how to reach you.
The finder writes you a message and you're notified straight away. You talk through Retra, and they never see who you are.
"This tag is already in use"
Someone has activated it before you. If it's yours and you've lost access — because you changed email address, say — write to retra@retra.se. We'll need the serial number printed in small type beside the QR code.
The pack number on the sheet in the pack
The sheet inside the pack has an 8-character pack number. You'll normally never need it — it's there for gifts and for signing in with a different address than you ordered with.
If you lost the sheet, write to retra@retra.se from the address you ordered with and we'll take it from there. The labels still work — they're just waiting to be taken into use.
